Intense Exfoliation without the Embarrassment

For the past few decades, the best way to get a deep exfoliation to remove years of sun damage, acne scars, or fine lines was to head to the doctor for a serious procedure and take a two week vacation to recover from what he did to achieve these fantastic results. But we have made great leaps in the field of skincare! Say good-bye to those TCA Peels, and dermabrasions, and hello to beautiful, radiant skin with a series of treatments! And the best part: no hiding at home afterward!
Almost everyone has at least one concern with their skin- whether it be dark spots, fine lines, uneven texture, breakouts, dryness, oiliness, etc. When you go to a doctor for these issues, he or she will give you a medication or procedure to get rid of your symptom; however, most physicians don't address the true issues and why your skin is behaving the way it is, which is why you need a skin therapist. A good skin therapist will look at your homecare regimen and modify it, as well as provide treatments to target your skin concerns.
Homecare is, of course, the most important part of your skin health, but professional treatments are truly what correct your issues. Deep chemical peels, dermabrasion, and "acne surgery" were once the common standards to fix skin issues. Now, your skin therapist can offer much more comfortable, affordable, and convenient ways of correction, such as enzyme peels and microdermabrasion. Enzyme peels actually dissolve the cellular "cement" that holds old, dead skin cells together; thus, creating a more even texture and shed-free exfoliation for the skin. Microdermabrasion is a form of physical exfoliation to resurface skin that requires absolutely no down time! Some estheticians, such as myself, even perform both treatments in one session to further the benefits!
Typically, microdermabrasion and enzyme peels are most effective in a series of 3 or 6, but this is ultimately up to your esthetician and the treatment protocol. These types of exfoliations are perfect for almost anyone and have very few contraindications! So instead of suffering with the skin shedding that occurs after a deep chemical peel, or the sensitivity and weeks of healing with dermabrasion, give a series of enzymatic peels or microdermabrasion a shot!
